History
PRACTICE
John Clark Brown, Jr. has the Martindale- Hubbell Law Directory's highest AV rating. Since 1982, he has focused on representing real estate lenders, servicers and trustees on litigation matters involving a broad range of issues from loan origination through servicing, payoff, foreclosures, repossession and resale of secured properties. He also represents other businesses and individuals on real property, title and business litigation matters.
EDUCATION
Clark graduated from Stanford University in 1966 (Honors in history, student body vice president and wrestling team). After two years in Viet Nam, he graduated from UCLA Law School in 1971. (Moot Court Honors Advocacy Program.)
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
Clark is a member of the American Bar Associaton, the Federal Bar, the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Real Estate and Litigation Sections of those bars. He is also a member of the California Trustees Association, the California Mortgage Bankers Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the California Trustees Associations and is an officer and director of the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Trustees Association.
TEACHING AND ARTICLES
Clark has instructed and lectured on real estate and bankruptcy litigation at U.S.C. Law School, California Continuing Education of the Bar seminars and at lender industry seminars and conventions.
His articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Business Journal, California Lawyer, Servicing Management, Commercial Mortgage Insight and the magazines of the REO Managers Association, the California Mortgage Association and the California Trustees Association.
COMMUNITY AND PERSONAL:
For many years Clark has coached AYSO soccer, Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department flag football and taught Sunday School. He enjoys running, biking and skiing.
